Gaelic Summer School 2003: 14-18 July and 21-25 July
Sgoil Shamhraidh 2003: 14-18 Iuchar agus 21-25 Iuchar

Would you like to learn Gaelic?
Would you like to improve your Gaelic skills?

Taigh Dhonnchaidh and Lews Castle College are offering a unique opportunity for students and Gaelic language enthusiasts to learn Gaelic or improve their language skills in the heartland of the language and culture.

The Summer School will be taking place for two weeks in and around Taigh Dhonnchaidh, Ness, Isle of Lewis. Students have the option of registering for either or both weeks and will be able to live and study in an area where Gaelic is still the first language of communication for many. You will also have the opportunity to go on trips around Ness and the island. In addition, the Summer School is being run in conjunction with the Hebridean Celtic Festival in the first week and Ceòl Nis in the second week, providing students with the opportunity to attend concerts and experience local culture.

Ma tha ùidh agaibh ann an Gàidhlig ionnsachadh no ma tha sibh airson ur sgilean cànain a leasachadh, nach tig sibh don Sgoil Shamhraidh a bhios a’ ruith ann an Taigh Dhonnchaidh ann an sgìre Nis, fad seachdain no dà sheachdain. Tha Nis air a bhogadh ann an cànan agus cultar nan Gaidheal. Bidh clasaichean rim faotainn gach madainn, agus feasgar bidh cothrom agaibh a dhol air turasan inntinneach air feadh an eilein. Cha bhi na tha sin de dh’àitichean rim faighinn air na cùrsaichean, mar sin cuiribh a-steach bileag iarrtais cho luath ‘s as urrainn dhuibh. Chì sinn san Iuchar sibh!

If you are interested in learning Gaelic or brushing up on your Gaelic skills, why not attend Sgoil Shamhraidh – a one or two week long intensive Gaelic course held at Taigh Dhonnchaidh in the culturally rich, Gaelic speaking region of Ness, Isle of Lewis? Every day students will attend classes until lunch-time and then, in the afternoon, be taken on informative trips around the island. Numbers on each course will be limited, so book early. See you in July!
