Location
Situated on the periphery of Scotland and Europe, Ness is widely regarded as being an important Gaelic speaking community that has a central role to play in the future development of the language and culture of the Gaels. The Taigh Dhonnchaidh arts & culture centre benefits not only the local people of Ness but also, from an economic viewpoint, attracts visitors to the region as well as students and academics interested in researching the Gaelic arts, culture, and language.
Travel and Accommodation
The Isle of Lewis is well served with regular sea and air services. British Airways provide services daily from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness to Stornoway. There are regular Caledonian MacBrayne ferry sailings from Ullapool to Stornoway and also from Uig in Skye to Tarbert in Harris. There are no public services to the island on Sundays.
